Advisors:
I hope the winds of priority registration have begun to subside and that you have marked your calendars for the Civitas Learning Presentation next Thursday, April 30th. Please review the message below and let Dr. Angela Baldasare know if you have any questions prior to the presentation.
Best-

Join us to learn more about how academic advisors can use predictive analytics to improve student success! April 30th, 8:30am - 10:00am in the SUMC Ventana Room
The UA Office of the Chief Information Officer<https://cio.arizona.edu>, Student Affairs<http://studentaffairs.arizona.edu/>, Provost's Office<http://provost.arizona.edu/>, and University Analytics and Institutional Research<http://uair.arizona.edu/> are partnering with Civitas Learning to combine data from the University's student information system (PeopleSoft/UAccess Analytics), learning management system (D2L), and the tutoring management system (TutorTrac). This data is leveraged, through predictive analytics, to develop or refine services and interventions, as well as inform effective practices and policy. Applying predictive analytics to student success in higher education is still a relatively new practice with currently only a small group of universities taking this comprehensive an approach.
Civitas Learning has developed applications that put this integrated data and predictive analytics in the hands of academic advisors. You are invited to attend a live demonstration of Inspire for Advisors on April 30th, 8:30-10:00 am in the SUMC Ventana Room. Your questions and input will be important as the University considers adopting this user interface.
Inspire for Advisors enables advisors to quickly assess which students are at risk of non-persistence, understand what's driving their needs and personalize the assistance that may be required to help that particular student or groups of students. Informed by predictive analytics, advisors are empowered to understand student engagement levels, their continuation probability and key drivers of risk to inform and track their interventions.
