SUBJECT: Call for Nominations - Fall 2014 Meritorious Awards for
Graduate Teaching Assistants
I am pleased to inform you that this year, the College of Agriculture & Life
Sciences will be providing two awards for meritorious performance as an
Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona College
of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Due to the diversity and competitiveness
of applicants at the various levels, we are giving two awards, one for a
master's level student and one at the Ph.D. level. This way we hope you
will be able to recognize teaching assistants whose performances have been
at the highest level in each category. Only Graduate Assistants with
specific teaching responsibilities will be eligible for this award. Each
department/school will be allowed to nominate one GTA, each
department/school may nominate one GTA per MAJOR. Each senior selected by
the College's schools and departments will receive a plaque from the Darrel
S. and Lucille Metcalfe Agricultural Endowment fund at a special luncheon
hosted by the College.
The selected outstanding GTA of the college for each category will be
recognized at a luncheon honoring them as well as the outstanding graduating
seniors from each department or school.
Students who applied for the award previously but were not selected are
encouraged to reapply. There is no limit on the number of times a student
can be nominated.
All submissions must follow the format, including the categories and
sub-categories, as outlined or the nominee will not be eligible for review.
Updates have been made to the outline, so please follow the instructions.
*Please see attachment for submission guidelines.*
Nominations are due by noon on October 8, 2014.
