Are you graduating in May or August, 2014?
Seniors, Graduate School and Professional School students, congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
We want to celebrate this great achievement and invite you to participate in the 30th Annual CHSA Graduation Convocation. The event will be bilingual and a mariachi will perform for your guests as they are being seated; we will also have mariachi music during the Reception following the ceremony. You will receive a CHSA sash as you walk across the stage after your name is read.
30th Annual CHSA Graduation Convocation
Date: Wednesday, May 14, 2014
Time: 5:30-7:30pm (graduating students asked to arrive at 4:30; reception following the ceremony from 7:30-8:15 pm.)
Location: Centennial Hall
REHEARSAL: TBA
Convocation Ceremony: Graduates must arrive at Centennial Hall by 4:30 pm — the Ceremony begins at 5:30, SHARP! Volunteers will instruct you as to the group picture and direct you to the processional line.
Guests: All are welcome. Invite all of your family and friends.
Cost: FREE, no tickets are required.
Dress: You are encouraged to wear your cap and gown or business formal wear. However, if you choose not to, please do not let this keep you from participating.
We need singers.

The Writing Skills Improvement program in the College of Humanities offers:
NAVIGATING YOUR WAY THROUGH CITATION STYLES
These workshops are designed to answer your most pressing questions regarding the various citation styles that you use when writing essays, research papers, theses, and dissertations. All workshops are free and open to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff, with no preregistration required. Just choose the workshop(s) you wish to attend and show up at the time, date, and location below:
The Basic Elements of MLA, APA, and Chicago Styles,

This workshop will focus on comparing and contrasting elements in three commonly used documentation styles: Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), and Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago or Turabian). The workshop is not meant to be a thorough examination of each style; instead, it will provide you with an understanding of the basic elements in each style.

The Student Health Advocacy Committee's 8th annual 5K Run for Your Life at the University of Arizona is quickly approaching. On Saturday March 29th, in addition to running for a great cause, there will be free t-shirts, music, food, and tons of cool prizes!

CALS Scholarship Application
for
Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 is now available!

To apply for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences scholarships, you must follow these five steps. For questions regarding these steps, contact the Scholarship Universe team at <mailto:OSFA-SU at email.arizona.edu> OSFA-SU at email.arizona.edu.
STEPS:
1. Log in to <https://scholarshipuniverse.arizona.edu/> Scholarship Universe with your UA Net ID and Password.
2. Answer ALL questions asked in the ‘PROFILE’ tab. This step may take ten to twenty minutes if you’ve never created a profile before. Your answers are used to match you to UA and non-UA scholarships you are eligible to apply for year round.
3. Look in the ‘SCHOLARSHIPS’ tab and your ‘ELIGIBLE’ folder for blue colored scholarships with a deadline date of 04/21/2014 and click on one to open it. UA scholarships will be blue and non-UA scholarships will be orange. You may be eligible for other UA scholarships so read the description to confirm it is from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS).
4. Scroll down to the ‘Apply Here’ section of the scholarship you opened. You will see instructions on how to apply. You will also see a ‘Bonus’ section if you eligible for more than one CALS scholarship that share the same application. The bonus section will list all the scholarships you will be applying for by applying to just the one scholarship you are viewing.
5. Follow all the instructions in the ‘Apply Here’ section such as, make sure you download the required ‘CALS Scholarship Application Template’ by clicking on the orange link provided. You must upload the completed application template and your resume to your ‘DOCS’ tab. Return to one of your CALS scholarships and select your documents from the appropriate drop-down bars in the ‘Apply Here’ section. Click the ‘SUBMIT APPLICATION NOW’ button at the very bottom and all the scholarships in the bonus section will be moved to your ‘APPLIED’ folder automatically. You are done!
TROUBLESHOOTING:
If you don’t see any blue colored scholarships in your ‘ELIGIBLE’ folder with a deadline of 04/21/2014, do the following:
· Make sure your power cell shows 100%. If it doesn’t, click on the ‘PROFILE’ tab and answer the questions that appear.
· Make sure you have answered all questions in your Profile accurately, especially the following (a search bar is at the top to help you find these quickly):
UA college(s) of study?: select ‘Agriculture and Life Sciences’ and save your answer.
My College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Major(s)?: select your major(s) and save your answer.
To observe and begin to develop communication and empathy skills that are fundamental to effective patient care.
To prepare for writing the personal statement required in the medical school application.
To develop interview skills.
To Apply:
1.The PRIMARY APPLICATION FOR SPRING 2013 CLINICAL ROTATION INTERNSHIP is available on our website at <http://prehealth.arizona.edu/> http://prehealth.arizona.edu.
2.Complete the application, following directions carefully.
3.Applications are due by NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM on SEPTEMBER 13, 2013. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The computer generated date/time will be the final determination of lateness. Don't let this be an issue, please.
4.Application essays will be evaluated and a secondary application sent to those who submitted the most competitive primary applications. Please note that GPA will not be factored into the primary evaluation. Secondary Applications will be due NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM on Sept. 24th.
5.Be available during non-class times week days between September 30th and October 14th for follow-up interview.
6.Applicants should reserve Thursdays, 4-5 PM for class times for their spring, 2014 schedule. Classes for this internship will be held at the UAMC/College of Medicine buildings.
