Would you like to see a water bottle refill station in the student union?!

Students for Sustainability (SFS) is aiming to get water bottle refilling stations installed in the SUMC in order to:

· Reduce plastic bottle waste produced on campus

· Increase the availability and convenience of filtered water for students who carry reusable water bottles.

The organization is collecting data from students via an online survey as a gauge of whether the general student population is in favor of Union water bottle refilling stations or not.

Please take the survey to voice your opinion:

If you’re looking for opportunities to lead, teach, and give back to the UA community, apply to be part of this year’s New Start Summer Staff!
Each year we hire many of the UA’s best as tutors, resident assistants and peer advisors to help ease the transition from high school to college for incoming students.

More than a summer job, being on staff allows you to grow and develop as a leader while also making an incredible impact on the lives of the students you work with. Applications are now being accepted through noon on Friday, March 14th.
The employment information packet is attached. Once you’ve read it through, you can access the employment application here <http://bit.ly/1mLg8Dh> .

UA Spring Career Days 2014
The biggest career fair held all Spring Semester
Tuesday & Wednesday, March 11 & 12, 11am to 4pm
in the Student Union Memorial Center 3rd Floor Ballroom
#UALastChanceFair

This Spring fair is an ideal opportunity for students to connect with employers…over 150 tables over the course of the two days will be filled with organizations looking for potential employees. Students can check online at <http://www.career.arizona.edu/> www.career.arizona.edu to determine what companies are coming and when. There will be some overlap, but each day different companies attend and different opportunities are available.

Students seeking full-time employment after graduation, career-related experience prior to graduation or just looking for potential careers will find opportunities and useful information at this year’s UA Spring Career Days.

Just a small sampling of companies attending this year’s event include: Abercrombie & Fitch, Apple, eBay, Sogeti, Thorlabs, Bard College, Charles Schwab, Hot Topic, Johnson and Johnson, Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health and Yelp.

One more time (with feeling). Don’t let your students miss this opportunity! We’ll have our eye out for them. If they are REALLY industrious, they can start tweeting prep pictures now to #UALastChanceFair. You know, the new suit hanging in the closet (we’re referring to a business suit, not their spring break swimming suit) and the professional portfolio spread across the desk…All good photo fodder.

CALS Scholarship Application
for
Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 is now available!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

To apply for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences scholarships, you must follow these five steps. For questions regarding these steps, contact the Scholarship Universe team at <mailto:OSFA-SU at email.arizona.edu> OSFA-SU at email.arizona.edu.

STEPS:

1. Log in to <https://scholarshipuniverse.arizona.edu/> Scholarship Universe with your UA Net ID and Password.

2. Answer ALL questions asked in the ‘PROFILE’ tab. This step may take ten to twenty minutes if you’ve never created a profile before. Your answers are used to match you to UA and non-UA scholarships you are eligible to apply for year round.

3. Look in the ‘SCHOLARSHIPS’ tab and your ‘ELIGIBLE’ folder for blue colored scholarships with a deadline date of 04/21/2014 and click on one to open it. UA scholarships will be blue and non-UA scholarships will be orange. You may be eligible for other UA scholarships so read the description to confirm it is from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS).

4. Scroll down to the ‘Apply Here’ section of the scholarship you opened. You will see instructions on how to apply. You will also see a ‘Bonus’ section if you eligible for more than one CALS scholarship that share the same application. The bonus section will list all the scholarships you will be applying for by applying to just the one scholarship you are viewing.

5. Follow all the instructions in the ‘Apply Here’ section such as, make sure you download the required ‘CALS Scholarship Application Template’ by clicking on the orange link provided. You must upload the completed application template and your resume to your ‘DOCS’ tab. Return to one of your CALS scholarships and select your documents from the appropriate drop-down bars in the ‘Apply Here’ section. Click the ‘SUBMIT APPLICATION NOW’ button at the very bottom and all the scholarships in the bonus section will be moved to your ‘APPLIED’ folder automatically. You are done!

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If you don’t see any blue colored scholarships in your ‘ELIGIBLE’ folder with a deadline of 04/21/2014, do the following:

· Make sure your power cell shows 100%. If it doesn’t, click on the ‘PROFILE’ tab and answer the questions that appear.
