Subject: [UPAC] UROC Poster Session Invitation: August 11, 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Dear Advising Colleagues,
The University of Arizona Graduate College is proud to sponsor the 19th
Annual Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC) Research
Conference on Monday August 11 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the Student Union
Grand Ballroom. This year, a record number of talented UROC students (180)
will showcase the research projects in which they were engaged this summer
under the guidance of UA faculty mentors. This event is free, open to the
public, and an excellent opportunity for the UA community to reach out to
show support for the next generation of scientists and scholars.
Approximately 1/3 of this year's UROC students hail from Mexican or Latin
American universities, another 1/3 from Arizona (UA, Tohono O'odham
Community College, or NAU), and the remaining 1/3 are from US universities
(Rutgers, Rice, Northwestern, Carlton College, Ft. Lewis College, UTEP, UC
schools, among others). Student posters will be arranged by disciplines, as
follows: agricultural and environmental sciences, biological life sciences,
computer and information sciences, engineering, medical and allied health
sciences, mathematics and statistics, physical sciences, psychology and
social sciences, humanities, and education.
Will you please mark your calendar and plan to attend? Please feel free to
share this invitation widely, as appropriate.
