Subject: [uaac] Academic Agreements
Hello UAAC:
In May, we completed improvements for the Academic Agreement modification.
These changes were requested by advisors, so we hope you find them
beneficial and useful as you work with students struggling academically. I
apologize for the delay in this information getting to advisors, as I know
it would have been useful these past few weeks. The highlights of the
improvements:
1. 1. Advisors will now be able to see whether a student has viewed an
Academic Agreement or not. This data will only populate from now forward, so
you will not be able to see this information on Agreements for Spring 2014
unless the student views the Agreement following the implementation of these
changes. This information will display at the bottom of the Academic
Agreement (Main Menu > Academic Advisement > Student Advisement > Academic
Agreements).
2. 2. If an advisor saves an Academic Agreement for a student and the
student has yet to view the Academic Agreement an automated email will go to
the student alerting him/her of the presence of an Academic Agreement on
file in Student Center. Students will still receive the mass email regarding
Academic Agreements, so this is meant to notify a student that an advisor
created Academic Agreement is in Student Center.
3. 3. Academic Agreements will no longer "lock" when accepted. This
means if a student accepts the Academic Agreement in July the advisor will
still be able to customize it when the student comes in for advising during
the semester.
4. 4. There is now a "View Agreement as PDF" button at the top of the
Academic Agreement. Clicking on this will generate a PDF version of the
Agreement with lines for signatures. Unlike the electronic versions, though,
all stipulations display and print but those included in the Academic
Agreement will have their corresponding boxes checked.
5. 5. A "Conditional Admission" box has been added as an option under
"Reason for Academic Agreement."
6. 6. Additional options have been included in the "Recommendations
from Academic Advisor." The new options mostly include forms and processes.
If you would like any items added to this list please let me know.
Our next steps are to work with Business Intelligence to get reports built
in Analytics for Academic Agreements and to include some Agreement data on
the Probation report. Per feedback, we would also like to include academic
recovery programs under the Conditions area so they display as a mandatory
part of the agreement. If you have any questions or further suggestions
please feel free to send them my way.
