Following is a summary of the professional development and training
opportunities available in September. Please note that we are requiring
RSVPs for these events. The attached two documents give more details about
Advisor Academy and the two webinars. Let me know if you have any

ADVISOR ACADEMY
A training and professional development series for academic advisors
September 15 and 19, 8:15 - noon
Advisor Academy (AA) is comprised of five half-day sessions of training and
professional development which features the opportunity to meet with key
campus partners. The series is designed especially for those with less than
three years' advising experience at the UA. Ideally, participants will
attend the full series scheduled throughout the fall semester. All academic
advisors are welcome to register for one, or more, sessions within the AA
series.
Registration is now being accepted for the first two sessions scheduled
September 15th and 19th. Please see attached for program details.

Would you like to learn more about how to support students and prevent
suicide on our campus? If so, you're invited to a Question, Persuade, Refer
(QPR) Suicide Prevention training.
At the end of this interactive training, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the warning signs of suicide,
2. Know how to offer hope,
3. Know how to help save a life.
A certificate is also available upon completion.
