[Agvisors] FW: 1st Agvisors Meeting - Fall 2014

Friendly reminder on the upcoming Agvisors meeting and other information.

Our final student orientations will be held on the following dates:

·         International Orientation – 8/14 (college meeting 9:30 at Marley 230; Advising from 1-3pm; schedule changes at 3pm)

·         Freshman Orientation: 8/15 and 8/19 (college meeting 9:45 at McPark 105; Advising from 2:15-4; schedule changes to start at 3pm)

·         Transfer:  new transfer students will continue with their one-on-one orientations (please note that the Transfer Welcome events to take place on 8/18 and 8/23 for transfer students will NOT count as their orientation. I mention this in case students ‘think’ that the event will count as such.)  Kristen has continuously reached out to new transfer students that have been admitted but not yet matriculated explaining what their next steps are in completing their orientation – Thanks Kristen! 

Also save the date for 8/13 (Wed.) for the opening of school presentation from the Bursar’s, Registrar’s and Financial Aid offices (see email below with details). It will be an informative meeting.

Greetings Agvisors:

Hope summer (in general) has been a great one for all.  I personally can’t believe we are less than a month away from the first day of classes!  We are still welcoming and orienting new transfer students and also have 3 group orientations left (2 for FR and 1 International).  

With so much going on, we will have our 1st Agvisors Meeting for this Fall term on August 12 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Saguaro Hall 219.  Lunch will be available.  Please send your lunch selections from Jimmy John’s to Maria Bueno  via email ( <mailto:mbueno at email.arizona.edu> mbueno at email.arizona.edu), in person at Forbes 211 or fax 621-8662 no later than Monday 8/11 by 12:00pm. OPENING OF SCHOOL MEETING:

To all interested UA staff,

This year’s Bursar/Registrar/Financial Aid Opening of School Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 13th from 8-9:30 in the Kiva Auditorium (Education Building) room 211. This meeting is our opportunity to share updates from the various offices and provide answers to students’ most common questions prior to the start of classes.

Topics that will be covered include: 

-Changes to the withdraw policy

-Guaranteed Tuition plan 

-Changes to online payments 

-New Financial Aid Web Resources 

And much, much more….
