[Agvisors] Degree Candidacy application

Greetings Agvisors:

 

Please refer students to file for their degree candidacy the term prior to
when they plan to graduate (preferably, not required, after they have
registered for their final term).  Students DO NOT need to have their CLEP
or other pending transfer coursework in the system to file.  

 

We have had about a handful of students filing for their degree candidacy at
this point for May and August because they were advised to hold off on
filing until they completed the CLEP exam.  These students ended up with the
$50 late application fee.  As long as the student notifies Julie of what is
pending she'll make note of it for her records.

 

Thanks in advance for referring them early to help avoid that late fee.

 

We can discuss this further at the April 22 Agvisors meeting.

 

Degree Candidacy application deadlines to avoid late fee:

February 1 for May and August (summer)

September 1 for December and January (winter)

 

*If the deadline falls on a weekend it defaults to the following business
day on Monday (i.e. Feb. 1 this year fell on a Saturday so the deadline was
Feb. 3).  I will keep you apprised of any changes (we are lucky to have
Julie in our office - we get update notifications quickly).
