[Agvisors] DL 50 Info Sessions

Frank and I have added 2 more information sessions for students interested in applying for the Dean's Leadership 50 they will be Wed. and Thurs. at Noon in Saguaro Hall room 219.  Please Share this information with you students.

[ARE YOU DL50?]


What is the DL50?
*        The Dean's Leadership 50 is an exceptional group of CALS Students that will take part in an exciting career leadership program.  The program is generously supported by a grant from CoBank.





Who is eligible?
*        To apply for the Dean's Leadership 50 you must be:
o   Declared within a major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
o   In your junior year or second semester of your sophomore year
o   Have a 3.0 GPA or above



Successful candidates will:
o   Take initiative
o   Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
o   Be well organized and can effectively manage their time
o   Willing to learn
o   Approachable
o   Can work with diverse groups of people
o   Willing to lead as well as follow



When can you learn more?
*        To be eligible to apply you must attend one of the following information sessions.
o   September 18, 2013 Noon Saguaro Hall 219
o   September 19, 2013 Noon Saguaro Hall 219



How do you apply?
*        After attending one of the information sessions you may download the application (http://cals.arizona.edu/cas/leadership-initiatives).  All completed application packets must be returned to Forbes 201 by 4:30 on Friday September 20, 2013.



What is the time commitment required?
*        Students selected for the DL50 should plan to commit up to 10 hours per month to meetings, activities, and workshops from content experts.



What are the benefits of joining the DL50?
*        Enhancement of skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and essential business skills; all of which have been identified by employers as essential for successful careers
*        Exposure to industry representatives and networking opportunities
*        Opportunities to participate in innovative experiential learning activities and personal growth
