[Agvisors] Fall 2013 Agvisor Meeting Dates and other

Greetings Agvisors:
First off, I would like to thank you on behalf of the CAS team for all your
advising assistance during the new student freshmen orientations. Our
college would not have this reputation of wonderful advising without each of
you. We have one more left this month and then three additional
(potentially 4) in August (August 15 - International; Aug 16 and 20 -
Freshmen). Potential session might occur on August 13.
New transfer students will continue to complete their individual orientation
throughout summer. As a reminder, refer them to schedule an appointment
with a CAS advisor on the same day they schedule with you. They can
schedule by calling 520-621-3616. This applies to the following majors:
ASC, AGTE, ENVS, PLSC, SPS, MICR, NTRS and VSC. All other majors don't
forget to send Kristen or I the advising verification form to remove the
student's advising hold. It can be emailed, faxed to 520-621-8662, or
submitted in person at Forbes 211. If emailed we just need to know the date
you met or had a phone appointment with them. Thanks for your assistance!
You are also invited to "UA Clicks" which is a mandatory session for all new
freshmen. It will take place on August 23 at 10:45 in Social Sciences Room
100. Right after the session (around 11:45) the CALS alumni office will
host a welcome event. Free food and prizes will be available. We
anticipate college clubs and organizations to be present as well. The
location for the welcome event is still to be determined (most likely at the
Forbes courtyard). Hopefully you can attend at least the welcome event to
see your students right before the beginning of term.
On a second note, the Fall 2013 Agvisor meeting dates are below. The first
meeting will be on the same day of the college "All Hands Meeting" which is
why the meeting time for us will start later than usual. Lunch will be
provided.
. August 22 - 12:00-2:00pm at Saguaro Hall 219
. September 24 - 11-1 at McPark 202
. October 22 - 11-1 at McPark 202
. November 26 11-1 at McPark 202
. December 10 (Retreat) 9-3 location TBD (McPark 202 will be the
back up location)
Some of the agenda items we will cover at the first meeting include the
on-line Academic Agreement (academic contract), Advisor Assignment UAccess
feature, and on-line Degree Audit system to name a few. If you have agenda
items/topics for discussion send them my way. Save the dates!
