Dear Susie,

Thank you very much for informing us about the Tucson Watergardeners Scholarship.

Our program helps to educate all about water use for food production with focus on CEA (controlled environment agriculture).  See attached CEAC Vision & Mission Statement.

If this is appropriate topic area for the scholarship I would be pleased to distribute the opportunity to the students who may be most worthy.



Also, have you contacted anyone at the Ag College [CALS] who may be able to distribute to others beyond the CEA students and program?

I will try to determine who that may be.



Although this is a less active time for students and production at the CEAC, I would invite you to visit either now or in the fall semester [once the students return] to learn more of our activities.

Subject: Tucson Watergardeners Scholarship

Dear Mr. Giacomelli,
The Tucson Watergardeners is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Arizona.  Since its inception in 1999, the club’s purpose is to promote an appreciation and understanding of water gardening, including ponds, bogs, fountains, wildlife and aquatic plants. As part of the education towards this end, we raise money so that we can assist others in education related to these goals.  Further information regarding the club can be accessed through http://tucsonwatergardeners.org/
We have established a scholarship program for students who are studying aquaculture, aquatic biology and other water garden related studies.  We will be awarding one or two scholarships a year.
I am enclosing the Scholarship guidelines and would ask that if you have any students you think might qualify, that you would pass this information along to them.  At this time, we are particularly interested in awarding our scholarships for the fall/winter semesters of the 2013 academic year.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call.
