All:

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Ambassador program is
the premier leadership program within CALS and is geared towards promoting
the University of Arizona, and within those parameters promoting the College
of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The CALS Ambassador program is composed of
elite students representing the diverse majors offered within the College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The focus of the CALS Ambassador program is to develop student leaders
through training in leadership, communications and experiential learning.
CALS Ambassadors serve as the student "face" of CALS to stakeholders and
prospective students at university, community and industry events across
Arizona and throughout the nation.

The CALS Ambassador "Cookies and Maps" is an annual event which takes place
on the first two days of the fall semester. Ambassadors mingle with students
who are on their way to or from class and give away cookies and water as
well as having maps to help new (and not so new) students find their
classes. Attendance to the "Cookies and Maps" event will be a mandatory for
those wishing to apply to the CALS Ambassador program. There is a minimum
commitment of one (1) hour at the Cookies and Maps table. My preference
would be to have those interested complete their time in no more than two
(2) 30 minute shifts, however, in order to accommodate various schedules,
the one (1) hour commitment can consist of a minimum of 15 minute intervals
and can be spread out over the course of Monday and Tuesday. No need to
RSVP, attend at your convenience and remember to sign in.

Only those completing this requirement will be eligible to attend the
information session on Thursday August 29th and receive the CALS Ambassador
application.

"Cookies and Maps" will take place in front of the Forbes Building from 7am
to 10am on Monday August 26th and Tuesday August 27th. Please contact me
with any questions or concerns.

( No need to RSVP, attend at your convenience and remember to sign in.)

 Eligibility requirements to apply:
Upper classmen applying must have a minimum of three semesters remaining in
their program including the current semester (earliest graduation date
should be no sooner than December 2014)
Minimum 3.0 (U of A) GPA for current students

Transfer students without a current U of A GPA should have a minimum 3.0 GPA
on TRANSFERABLE CLASSES from previous school.

Freshmen students without a current U of A GPA should have a minimum high
school GPA of 3.5

Successful candidates:
Take initiative
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
