All:

Yesterday Dr. Willerton and his most talented Graduate Assistant, Jared
Perkins, came by to test their iPad eBook with the projector being used for
tomorrow's seminar. The eBook they have developed for POL 150C The Politics
of Happiness is a.m.a.z.i.n.g. The energy and excitement they have funneled
into creating this new Tier I course is boundless. They showed just a
couple of the You Tube clips they have embedded throughout the text (one of
an interesting Russian rap singer), discussed how Twitter will be used to
engage all students, and described the learning outcomes they have developed
for the course.

Many of you commented on how much you enjoyed Dr. Tom Fleming's Clickers in
the Classroom presentation at the recent Kick-Off Event. Well, I hope you
will grab your iPad and join us tomorrow (9/27) at 9:00 in SUMC 411 to learn
more about new uses for technology in the classroom.

Do you work with students? Then you are welcome to attend this ARC Seminar!

Roxie

P.S. Do you have a Tier I course you recommend for an ARC Seminar? Please
let us know.
