CALS Students:

As you are preparing for priority registration for Spring 2013, in
consultation with your major advisors, you may find the attachments helpful.
The two attachments include lists of the UA General Education Tier One and
Two requirements.

Please note that in the Tier One sections students need two courses with
distinct letters (i.e. RNR160D and AIS160A) to fulfill the specified
category (Traditions and Cultures in the specified example). If you happen
to enroll in two courses with the same letter (i.e. two 160D courses) one of
the courses will count as an elective and you will still need to take
another 160 course that does not end with the same letter you formally
completed (not a "D" in the specified example) to fulfill the other Tier One
Traditions and Cultures requirement. The attachments will provide you with
additional information.

Also, as you are preparing for midterm exams and research papers consider
using the services at the Think Tank and Writing Center:

. The THINK TANK (http://thinktank.arizona.edu/) is the place to go
for: Math and Science tutoring, the Writing Center
(http://thinktank.arizona.edu/information/writing-center-handouts), Weekly
Course Reviews, Supplemental Instruction, Academic Skills tutoring and so
much more! The THINK TANK provides both FREE and fee based services to meet
the diverse needs of all UA students. Visit them at Bear Down Gym very soon
Remember, whereas high school may have focused on your skills at
memorization, college is about learning and understanding all course
material.

Hope your Fall term is going great thus far! If not, consult with your
academic advisors soon to learn about options. Also make sure to consult
with your professors. We are halfway through the Fall term and there is
still time to make positive changes with your academics.

Note that October 12, 2012 is the last day to withdraw from a class with a
"W" with instructors permission on a Change of Schedule form. The form must
be submitted to the Administration Building Room 210 no later than 4:30pm on
October 12, 2012 (with instructor's signature). Form can be found on-line
at: http://registrar.arizona.edu/registrarforms or in Forbes Room 211.

Best,
