Sometimes it is difficult to stay atop of the current issues and feel
adequately informed about what is going on in government and politics.
Sometimes we feel like we can't make a difference or have our voices
properly heard by our representatives. Sometimes we don't feel inclined to
vote or participate. Now is the time to change that.

The UBRP Ambassadors are hosting The Politics of Science, Health, &
Education: What You Should Know Before The Election. In this panel, we are
inviting various experts from the fields of science, health, education, and
government to help students on campus and the public become informed on the
issues that are especially important for this upcoming presidential
election.

Moderated by the UBRP Ambassadors, these experts will discuss a variety of
topics that relate politics and government to science, health, and
education, and it will be formatted as an open Q&A session between the
panelists and the audience. This event will take place on Thursday, October
18 at 5 pm in the Keating Building, room 103. This is NOT a debate, rather
it is a sharing of information.

Panelists include Shay Stautz, Associate Vice President for Federal
Relations, Richard Thompson, Assistant Director for Federal Relations, Todd
Camenisch, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Dr.
Derksen, Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health.

The panel is free and open to everyone!

Remember, an informed voter is a powerful voter, so even if you can't make
it, educate yourself on the issues however you can! If you're not a
currently registered voter, you can start here:
