Subject: 3 unit trig course satisfies M and G strand

Hi,

UA Math 111 does not satisfy the M or G strand math requirement because it
is only a 2 unit course. The UA requires 3 or more units.

Many community college courses offer a 3 unit trig course. If a student has
a 3 unit trig course that transfer in as UA math 111 (or is evaluated as UA
Math 111), then it will satisfy the M or G strand math requirement.
This means it will substitute for Math 105 or Math 112. Math 111 by itself
is NOT a prerequisite to any UA math course and is not used for placement.
This decision was made some time ago by the UA Gen Ed Committee.

If you see a 3 unit trig course, you can substitute this for the M or G
strand requirement by making an exception.
