Greetings Advisors and Friends of Advisors:

 

Do you work with students?  Do you want to learn more about retention
strategies, the new Smart Planner, or new federal regulations about what
makes satisfactory academic progress?  Then attend the in-service portion of
the May 9th event. (program schedule below; also attached)

 

Following the in-service will be a Celebration of Excellence with a
presentation beginning at 3:45 which will recognize outstanding advisors and
leaders in the advising community.  Also, please consider submitting your
academic advising syllabus for the poster session.

 

So we may plan for the appropriate number of tables for the in-service and
the right amount of refreshments, please be sure to RSVP by May 7th. (Link
below)

The Smart Planner (1:45 - 2:30)

with the Degree Tracker Project

 

The Smart Planner is an interactive technological tool empowering both
advisors and students to plan and track students' progress toward timely
degree completion.  Live demonstration by a real student!

 

Satisfactory Academic Progress (2:30 - 3:15)

 

As of July 1, 2011, the Department of Education implemented new changes to
the SAP policy.  This session will discuss the changes to SAP, including the
new term "Pace."  Specific examples will be given.
