Good afternoon,

 

The UAccess Student Class Search has been given a new look as part of an
ongoing project to make the Schedule of Classes easier to navigate for
students and faculty, based on feedback from campus users. 

 

Below are the changes that you will notice the next time you use the Class
Search either while logged in or through the public Class Search:

 



 

.         All Class Search criteria show together in one window- previously
the "Additional Search Criteria" were hidden from view unless the user chose
to expand the window.

.         The "Show Open Classes Only" checkbox has been moved to the top of
the page, and the text has been altered to "Show only classes with available
seats," to clarify the effect of checking or unchecking the box.

.         The Campus and Location drop-down menus have moved higher up on
the page, rather than being hidden at the bottom of the page.

.         The modifier on the Course Number drop-down menu now defaults to
"contains" rather than "is exactly". This will help users find classes with
alphanumeric course numbers more easily.

.         The number of required criteria to perform a search has been
reduced from 3 to 1, and users can view results of up to 250 sections
without receiving a warning message.

.         The status icon for "Open with Requirements" has been changed from
a red star to a yellow/green circle, to denote that the section is open only
to those students that meet the necessary requirements:

 



 

Other improvements to the Schedule of Classes are being developed based on
campus feedback. Please watch for more changes in the coming months.
