`~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
If you know of others who may be interested in judging please have them see the web site and complete the appropriate forms (judge or volunteer). If they do not have Internet access, please have them call the SARSEF Office (621-3483). Your help is greatly appreciated.

Please check the judging information is under the Volunteer drop down at:
http://www.sarsef.org<http://www.sarsef.org/> ... both for information and sign up ( http://www.sarsef.org/pageframe.asp?pg=61 ). After signing up you will receive an automatic message indicating that your registration was received. In the coming weeks I will also send you a note stating the category you are initially placed in. You should get final confirmation 1-2 weeks before the fair, but please make sure we're on your calendar.

What is the difference between a Grand Awards and a Sponsor's Awards Judge?
Sponsored Awards Judges are those judges' selecting award winners for their specific organization or company. As a Sponsored Awards Judge (SpAw Judge), please indicate this on the on-line registration form. Please do not check off any of the categories unless you are willing to serve as a Grand Awards Judge as well as a SpAw Judge. We do, of course, encourage you to judge for both Special and Grand awards. If you select specific categories, we will assume you are willing and we will assign you to a Grand Awards category based on your selections, in addition to listing you as a Sponsored Awards Judge for your organization/company. Please call or email if you have questions.
Grand Awards Judges are those that will select the top projects for the SARSEF Grand Awards!

Volunteers are also needed for the fair in general, so if you or someone you would like to help, please check out the information under volunteers - we are always in need.

There are sample judging criteria listed on the "forms" portion of the web site for all interested in seeing what the students are being told the judges will be evaluating. This is important to review these before judging day. If you need a hard copy, please contact me directly and I will get one mailed to you.

We encourage judges to select a category for a grade level lower than one in which they normally teach; i.e. a University professor would judge High School or lower, a High School Teacher would judge Middle School or lower, etc. Please pick one category in which you would feel most comfortable, and rank your preferences with a 1, 2, or 3. The category assignments for judging are initially based on a first come first serve basis, so a few of you may not be in your first or second choice, but we will do our best. Notice the change in some of the categories! We're keeping with the International Science & Engineering Fair direction.

I will be in touch with you prior to the fair to confirm all dates and times. Thank you and I will look forward to seeing you at the SARSEF on March 9th. Once again, we are planning on a super fair -Thanks to your support!

Speaking of Support .... We also need financial support!
Now you can now donate online! http://www.scientek12.org

<http://wwwscientek12.org/>SARSEF cannot take place without the generosity of our community, both in time and donations! Many thanks to our funding donors and Awards sponsors for their gifts. There are several other ways you can help SARSEF continue to provide opportunities for southern Arizona students: visit the drop down on the Contributor Link which explains how you can donate without "additional cost", i.e. through the United Way program, and Basha's Thanks A Million. We greatly appreciate your generosity and assistance.

I look forward to hearing from you, Paula
