SUBJECT: Call for Nominations - Fall 2012 Meritorious Awards for Graduate Teaching Assistants

I am pleased to inform you that this year, the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences will be providing two awards for meritorious performance as an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Due to the diversity and competitiveness of applicants at the various levels, we are giving two awards, one for a master's level student and one at the Ph.D. level. This way we hope you will be able to recognize teaching assistants whose performances have been at the highest level in each category. Only Graduate Assistants with specific teaching responsibilities will be eligible for this award.

The selected outstanding GTA of the college for each category will be recognized at a luncheon honoring them as well as the outstanding graduating seniors from each department or school.

Each department or school may submit one nominee for each category for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' Meritorious Award for Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Students who applied for the award previously but were not selected are encouraged to reapply. There is no limit on the number of times a student can be nominated.

All submissions must follow the format, including the categories and sub-categories, as outlined or the nominee will not be eligible for review. Updates have been made to the outline, so please follow the instructions. (Per I.R.S. regulations, honoree must be a US citizen and have a valid SS#)

*Please see attachment for submission guidelines.*

Nominations are due October 10, 2012.

Send packets to: Office of Academic Programs, Forbes 201, attention: Cecilia Mazon.
Questions regarding the process can be directed to Cecilia Mazon (cmazon at cals.arizona.edu).
