We are thrilled to have him back in the classroom. Dr. David Cox, Professor
and Associate Dean Emeritus, will be teaching AED 697c - Workshop on
Teaching at the College level. The course was originally designed by Dr. Cox
some years ago, and now he gets to teach about his first love --- excellence
in teaching!  Dr. Cox will not only deliver much of the content but will
draw upon College faculty and Academy Fellows with expertise in teaching
related subjects, for example, brain-based learning, teaching in a
laboratory setting, teaching in a large lecture setting, assessment of and
for learning, etc.  The course will be taught face-to-face, but will have an
online section for distance learners.

Selected Course Outcomes

. Understand the practical application of teaching/learning theories at the
college level as they relate to instructional methodologies, strategies, and
planning.  

. Discover instructional objectives, content organization, and assessment of
learning experiences.  

. Exchange new ideas and focus on practical methods, skills and principles. 

. Motivate and engage the learning potential in each student.  

DAY: Mondays

TIME: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
