[Agvisors] Registration Information for Spring 2012 Transfer students

Greetings Agvisors:

I know many of you have already met with various STU 210 transfer students.
Please note that the students will have to complete the on-line Academic
Tour via the Next Steps Center in order for them to end up with an
enrollment appointment during the Spring 2012 priority registration.  The
Academic Tour will be available starting this Monday October 17.

For the major departments that are completing the one-on-one orientation
with the students, make sure you submit the Advising Verification form
(refer to attachment) to Forbes 211 or send Kyle Sharp or myself an email
with the student name, ID and date they met with you. If they are STU 210
please indicate that as well on the form or via email.

All transfer students should be receiving the CALS Transfer packet by you
(if you are a major listed as completing the orientation at the department
level) or by OAP when they  meet with Kyle or myself.  Below is the message
students are getting via the Next Steps Center as to how to complete the
Transfer Orientation for CALS.  CALS Transfer packets are available in
Forbes 211 for pick up (or delivery, just let us know how many copies you
would like and we will deliver them to you). J

CALS New Transfer Student Orientation information:

Welcome to the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences! 
To complete the New Transfer Student Orientation for the College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences follow the steps below. Depending on your
major you will need either one or two appointments.

First complete the Math Placement Exam on-line (if applicable). Failure to
complete placement exam will prevent you from registering for Math and basic
Science courses (i.e. chemistry and biology). Information is available via
the Academic Tour. 

The following majors need one appointment with the major advisor. When you
call to schedule the appointment please indicate the appointment is for the
New Transfer Student Orientation.

The following majors need two appointments. One with the major advisor and
the other with Academic Programs. Meet with major advisor first, then
Academic Programs preferably on the same day.  To schedule with Academic
Programs call 520-621-3616. When you call to schedule the appointment(s)
please indicate the appointment is for the New Transfer Student Orientation.
