So, sign up right away. The morning program will include recognition of influential contributors to Arizona agriculture, families, and communities over the last 100 years. The morning program will also highlight significant research and management of Arizona's forests for the last 100 years and beyond, describe the history and impact of the Arizona Tree Ring Lab, and discuss Arizona climate trends in the past and into the future. Following a BBQ lunch, there will be a two-hour afternoon session with hands on learning and demonstrations on various topics from home canning and remote sensing to Native American food production and forest health. There will be an email going out this Friday, July 11, with information regarding the upgrade. That email will be legitimate and will contain a link to a survey that must be completed by the end of summer. Alan Fischer, public information officer at the Tucson-based Planetary Science Institute, will introduce these two specials. “Rocket Men” reveals the epic behind-the-scenes struggle that ultimately carried men to the Moon. “Earthlight” explores the challenges facing the human race and how the technology we are designing to return to the Moon might be extremely useful here on Earth as well.
