We have had a lot of interaction and serious discussions with a broad set of stakeholders from across the state regarding their interests in CE and what they would like to see from this organization. From these discussions there are several points that come through very consistently among stakeholders representing all sectors of the state geographically, professionally, culturally, and politically.

First, it is readily apparent that CE is an entity that many people appreciate and support in terms of its capacity to deliver on the basic mission of bringing the university to the public across the state and for bringing science to bear on practical problems. Secondly, even though most people are generally supportive of CE, they would like to see more direct evidence of effective program delivery out in the state. The third common point that is offered to me consistently is the strong stakeholder desire that CE personnel are held fully accountable for delivering programs in their area of responsibility and to the full body of CE as an organization, the college, and the university.

The issue of accountability is a key factor and it directly relates to our capacity to deliver effective CE programs across the state. In all cases, CE personnel are indeed fully accountable for their assigned duties and to the CE organization. That accountability begins with me and all positions in the administration and extends to all positions and all stations in the CE organization. We all have the full responsibility for our duties as outlined in our position descriptions and we are all subject to annual reviews based on our performance. While we have our individual duties and assignments we are also accountable to the CE organization, CALS, and the UA. As we move forward and work to build the CE organization and follow our strategic plan these are some key points that we want to keep in mind.

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION AND LUNCHEON:

<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f">
