It’s also important to note the significance of having direct engagement with stakeholders in the communities, on the range, in the fields, or wherever our programs are directed. The Extension maxim has always been: “Start with people where they are, not where you want them to be.” This principle is fundamental to work in delivering Extension programs and relevant to any of our program areas, not just agriculture and natural resources. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>For all of those faculty and staff in Cooperative Extension (CE) that are actively engaging with stakeholders and working in their field of operation, my message to you is simply <b>“thank you – keep up the good work!” </b>For those of you who upon review of your own programs see a need for improvement with stakeholder engagement, I encourage you to do so. This expansion adds to APW’s growing list of Water Festivals, which are currently held in Flagstaff, Payson, the Verde Valley, Chandler, Gilbert, Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Yuma, Tucson and Nogales.
