</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>TMN submittal:  <a href="http://cals.arizona.edu/extension/tuesday/form/submittal_form.html">http://cals.arizona.edu/extension/tuesday/form/submittal_form.html</a><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>Tuesday Morning Notes <o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>June 11,</span></b><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> 2013<span style='color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>FROM THE DIRECTOR:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>We always continue to learn and grow through our work and experiences.  This past week I learned that if I ever want to know if anyone reads these illustrious comments I send out through Tuesday Morning Notes, all I need to do to test that question is to simply suggest something about reorganization of CALS Cooperative Extension.  Based on the responses from my 4 June comments, it seems that I have found a lively topic for many folks in CALS.  I can also say that I very much appreciate the good suggestions and comments that have been offered in the past week.  In review of this input, I think it would be appropriate for me to provide a few points today for clarification and/or reinforcement of the message I attempted to communicate last week.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Several points worthy of noting regarding this <b><span style='color:#0070C0'>proposed</span></b> reorganization plan for county-based units in Cooperative Extension include the following:  <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>This is a <b><span style='color:#0070C0'>proposed</span></b> reorganization plan and not a final plan for implementation.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>The Extension Administration Team (EAT) is open to suggestions and ideas relative to this proposal.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>The basic objectives associated with this <b><span style='color:#0070C0'>proposed</span></b> reorganization are:  1) improve the capacity to deliver programs, and 2) improve efficiency in business operations and administrative support for all units across the state.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Maintain a Cooperative Extension office in every county.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Campus-based (departments/schools) and all personnel based at the centers are encouraged to review and comment on this <b><span style='color:#0070C0'>proposed</span></b> reorganization plan.<o:p></o:p></span></li><ul style='margin-top:0in' type=circle><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level2 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>It is important to recognize that all programs in Cooperative Extension should be delivered out in the state, that is, in counties, in collaboration with county-based faculty and staff.<o:p></o:p></span></li></ul><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Financial gains can be realized in the long term but not expected in the short term.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l2 level1 lfo1'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Implementation of any future reorganization plan will be done in a stepwise manner.<o:p></o:p></span></li></ul><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Once again, I want to thank everyone who has provided constructive reviews, comments, and suggestions.  This <b><span style='color:#0070C0'>proposed</span></b> reorganization plan will certainly be subject to some modification and revision before any type of implementation is considered an
