Arizona 4-H youth development programs touch the lives of 15% of Arizona’s children and youth between the ages of 5 and 19 - more than 1 in 10. Total 4-H enrollment in 2011 was nearly 185,000 - an increase of 41,000 participants from the previous year. Thanks and credit go to all the 4-H faculty, program coordinators, and staff who work so hard to extend the resources of 4-H to youth in a wide variety of settings.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2'><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Host Families Needed for Summer Japanese Exchange</span></b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> - Since 1972, the 4-H pledge has included the phrase “and my world” - to recognize and celebrate our international connections and interdependence. Arizona 4-H offers a number of opportunities for 4-H members and families to experience the richness of the world, even without leaving home. Each summer, we need 10 host families for 10 Japanese 4-H/LABO youth ages 12-16 who come to Arizona for one month - July 21- August 19. These eager Japanese youth want to experience American culture and learn English better by staying with your family. They need a host sibling of the same approximate age. Please promote this in your county with families with children between the ages of 12-16. Applications for hosting a Japanese delegate may be completed on-line by setting up and account at the <a href="http://www.states4hexchange.org/host-families/">States' 4-H International Exchange Programs website</a> or you may fill out and print a form found at the <a href="http://extension.arizona.edu/4h/state/inbound-japanese-exchange-program">Inbound Japanese Exchange Program website</a> and submit it to the Arizona 4-H office: University of Arizona, Cooperative Extension, Forbes 301, Tucson, AZ 85721, attn: Kirk Astroth. Normally the built-in Windows mouse and keyboard drivers are all that is needed, even for the wireless types. Software would be needed to access or reconfigure any special features of a mouse (a 5 or 7 button mouse) or a keyboard (multi-media keyboard). Some of the more popular software is Logitech's Setpoint, Logitech's MouseWare, Microsoft's IntelliType (keyboard) or IntelliPoint (mouse), and Kensington's MouseWorks. For example, if there is no Kensington mouse attached to the computer, then Kensington MouseWorks should not be installed.
