The mission of this team is to shape food consumption in a positive way, promote health, and reduce the incidence of disease for people with limited financial resources. There are currently 11 SNAP-Ed program units located in 8 counties in Arizona. In FY10, a total of 98,924 people participated in direct education contacts provided by the SNAP-Ed program. This SNAP-Ed Team has worked successfully, in partnership with the Arizona Department of Health Services, for over ten years to build an effective, diverse education team that includes CALS faculty and staff based on the main campus and in Cooperative Extension offices throughout the state. They are an exemplary model of engagement with people to help improve lives and communities. The resiliency and adaptability of this team have enabled them to successfully launch, develop and sustain this excellent outreach education program.

COLLEGIATE AND CAMPUS SHOWCASE:

This Friday, November 4, Sheila Merrigan will be presenting at the 2nd Annual Collegiate and Campus Showcase on behalf of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. As noted on the site, “CCleaner is our system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally, it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!" CCleaner should be run once a week to keep junk files at a minimum. It is more thorough than the built-in Windows Disk Cleanup since it cleans items that Disk Cleanup does not.
