The academy will take place November 14-18 in Washington, DC. Mary has worked for the office for twenty years and replaces Darlene Lyman who retired as the Office Supervisor after 23 years in various administrative positions with the office.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>FOCUS ON PROGRAMS:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Last March, the <b>Climate, Natural Resources and Sustainability Signature Program Team</b> was awarded a grant from the UA Green Fund Committee to supplement funding for four county "Externship" opportunities for UA students this summer. This Externship program is intended to provide undergraduate students with a work experience addressing community-scale sustainability projects in several rural communities throughout Arizona. The four counties and projects are: Rainwater Harvesting Project in Safford (Graham County - Bill Brandau); Community Gardens Project in Parker (La Paz - Linda Masters); Summer Institute for Teachers on Sustainability Curriculum in Sierra Vista (Cochise - Darcy Tessman); and Farmers' Market Start Up Project in Globe (Gila - Chris Jones). For those of you new to our system, the manual covers information that ranges from Organization to Operations and Civil Rights to Program areas – and much more. The latest version has now been converted to a “Books” component in Drupal and after conversion and editing over the past months, is now ready for use. The format looks different but the content and categories are similar to the original online version. Editing and link updates will continue, but you can begin referencing the <a href="http://extension.arizona.edu/acebooks/content/program-and-procedural-manual">Program & Procedural Manual</a> in its new format.
